Posted on Mon, 30 Mar 2015
Question: I get kidney stones. I recently passed one about two weeks ago. I got a CT and KUB that showed no stones remained. For almost two weeks now i have had blood and tissue like substance in my urine. I am currently doing a 24 hour urine and it streaks of blood and tissue. It takes a while to pee. Meaning I have to go but it takes a while to come out. I also only pee a little bit at a time. I also have the urge to pee shortly after going. I am only peeing about 100cc each time. I take potassium citrate 1080 twice a day. I also have had blood leakage in the front of my underwear. i have not had a period in over ten years and this is bright red and only in the front.

Brief Answer:
urine test should be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Your symptoms may be due to urinary tract infection (UTI). It occurs when bacteria enter the urinary tract.

Strong urge to urinate, burning or pain when urinating and small amounts of urine are the typical sings of UTI. Also pink/red urine may be present.

Please note that kidney stones may increase the risk of UTI. Women have a bigger chance of UTI because of shorter urethras.

I suggest you for base line:
- urine test to find bacteria,

If the bacteria is present your doctor will prescribe you an antibiotic.

Before you can visit your doctor you can try over-the-counter urinary pain reliever.

Urinating frequently, drinking more water and wash after sexual intercourse may prevent new UTI.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
