What Causes Blood In Urine?

Question: I had a turp 5 years age
Last week major blood in urine, goes clear and then returns with clots dark red

Currently also have red welts on inside of ancles

Have scheduled scan of bladder in 4 dats. What should i watch out for

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have undergone TURP 5 years back for enlarged prostate and now have hematuria.

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1)Do you have any voiding urinary symptoms like frequency,urgency.poor stream etc ?
2) Are you taking any blood thinners like Aspirin?

Hematuria after TURP can be due to one of the following reasons
1) Recurrence of Enlarged prostate
2) Cancer of the prostate (Recently developed )
3) Bladder mass either benign or malignant .

Te precise nature of the pathology can be confirmed only on clinical examination and following basic tests
1) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
2) Trans Rectal Ultrasound Scanning (TRUS)
3) C.t Scan of abdomen and pelvis
4) Endoscopic Examination of Bladder (Cystoscopy).

Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get above investigations under his guidance .

Further line of treatment will be decided by him based on clinical findings and results of these tests.

I have normal urine stream but generally heavily mixed with blood and some clots

I had a cardiac problem last may with stent inserted in right conorary artery
Blockage 95% and now certainly taking asperin and brilinta.

Tonight have red weals on ankles

Tanks for follow up.Your hematuria could be drug induced due to Aspirin .

Please withheld Aspirin for couple of days after consulting your Cardiologist.

Ensure to drink more water.

Take Vit C,Vit K and antibiotics for couple of days .

If hematuria persists consult Urologist and get the investigations I have suggested earlier.
