Brief Answer: Allergies vs infection, treatment changes. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for coming to HealthCareMagic. From what you have described here, it looks like you have been diagnosed with Allergies and you are taking treatment for the same. Are you sure that this sinus congestion is allergy related? Has this affected you for a long time? When did the sinus issues start? What treatment have you gotten before? If the issue is fairly new, then i would suggest that it may not be an allergy, if you have fevers or body pain associated with the sinus issues, it veryy well may be an infection and it would need antibiotics. So to help me figure tis out, could you tell me when this issue started? What other symptoms you have had. If you have allergies already or if this is new for you. With this info, we can make a plan to deal with this issue. Looking forward to your reply. Vinay

Brief Answer: Antibiotics are ok when planning Detailed Answer: Hi. What I would suggest is an Antibiotic like Levofloxacin 500mg twice daily for the next 7 days to get rid of the infection. If you are not pregnant CURRENTLY, then it should be ok. By the time you do conceive it will be out of your system. I would also suggest that you get to an ENT doctor so that your nose can be examined and you can be put on some sprays that will help decongest you. This will help you prevent problems when you do eventually conceive. Gargling warm salt water helps clear the throat and crushing an Aspirin, mixing THAT with warm water and garging will help control the pain of a sore throat. I hope this helps. Vinay
