What Causes Blisters On Lips Following Fever?

default
Posted on Thu, 5 Jun 2014
Question: I have a low grade fever 99.3 + or - pale stool and had 4 or five blisters on my lip for about 3 days. I thought initially I had a mild sinus infection because the tissues around my eyes seemed very puffy.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that it will be very difficult to give you a diagnosis based on this history but still we can discuss the options .

The blisters on your lips can be due to herpes labialis that can occur following any infection as you have mentioned you had a sinus infection. Plus I will like to advise you to undergo CBC , RFT , LFT and other routine testing as you give a complaint of puffy eyes and pale stools . An evaluation for typhiod fever is also recommended . Until and unless investigations are with us it will be difficult.

So, I will advise you to see a physician for this as examintion is also very importanat to look for any other signs as rash , organomegaly etc.

Take care.

Dr. Shruti
