default
Posted on Mon, 23 Jun 2014
Question: Hi,

My girlfriend and I were making out and since she is still a virgin we did not want to have intercourse. We were in doggy style but without penetrating and I think her minor labia got wounded. She has been bleeding for 15 minutes now. And we think that it is not hymen since she does not feel any pain inside and the blood is coming from outside the entrance. Should be go the a hospital now or is it gonna heal on its own. Please advise

Brief Answer:
VISIT TO HOSPITAL IF BLEEDING IS HEAVY.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

According to your information, bleeding is coming out from wounded external skin or labia, due to local blunt trauma, as you haven't undergone penetrative sexual intercourse.

If bleeding is MILD, then it will heal up automatically without further treatment. Local ICE-PACK compression will be helpful in that case. However, I suggest her to visit nearby hospital if bleeding is still HEAVY or continues more than 1 day.

Hope, I have answered your query. If you don't have any other query, you can close the discussion.

Wish her good health and take care yourself. Practice safe sex.

Regards,
Dr Soumen
