What Causes Bleeding, Fever, Headache, Dry Heaving And Diarrhea?
Question: Hello, I'm writing on my girlfriends behalf,
we are not trying to have a baby, we last had sex on the 27th of February which was a Saturday, we used protection, as always, and this Friday just gone she had a dark brown thick discharge, and she had a lot of it, it only lasted Friday, the next day it went to red blood, like a normal period, then today she's just had little amounts of red blood (not spotting). Today she's also got a fever, a headache, dry heaving, shaking slightly, she's had diarrhoea, her legs and arms have been aching, and she's just been sick, some of these are symptoms for pregnancy, but they are also symptoms of norovirus, and she does not drink a whole lot of fluid during the day. Was wondering what your thoughts are as we really need to put an end to the worrying?

Hi,
1) Her last menstrual period date was 6th of February.
2) The duration of her cycles are normally 5-7 days long.
3) We had Intercourse 27th of February. A week before her next period was due, but I wore protection (condom).

1) According to her last period date, she has NO chance of pregnancy and above clinical features are NOT related with that.
2) She is mostly suffering from viral fever and need some basic treatment (like Paracetamol, drink more fluid with ORS to combat dehydration, take adequate rest, need healthy protein rich diet etc). Maintain genital hygiene properly. Kindly, consult with local doctor for treatment.
3) I suggest her to undergo complete blood count, Hemoglobin% and routine urine examination if fever doesn't subside within 3-4 days. Review with reports.
