What causes bleeding and pain after brushing teeth?

Whenever i brush in the morning it starts bleeding and pains as well.

Brief Answer: due to gingivitis Detailed Answer: hello.. welcome to the forum.. Bleeding is generally due to gingivitis which is associated with factors such as micro-organisms, calculus, food impaction, faulty restoration, mouth breathing, tooth malposition, nutrition deficiencies, drug action, endocrine changes like puberty, menstrual cycle, pregnancy, diabetes mellitus etc... Without an opportunity to examine you, I am unable to narrow down the possibilities. Therefore i encourage you to visit a dentist to find out exact cause and to get the teeth cleaned... In the meanwhile you can... * Brush your teeth regularly with soft bristles tooth brush. * Replace your tooth brush within 6 months. * Brush in back and forth and up-down motion and rinse your mouth after evry meal. * Use chloro hexidine mouthwash regularly. * Include vitamin c containing food in your diet like lemon oranges etc. * Also check your menstrual cycle, blood sugar level to know whether you are diabetic or not.
