Question: My stepson is 11 and in the 5th grade He wets himself during the day several times a day and deficates sometimes as well. He also does this in bed. He has all these strange habits like only eating eggs and mac and cheese. He has not ever had a piece of fruit and has only ha a vegetable once during the last 12 months. He will not touch food if it has been touched by anyone or drink out of a class if anyone else touched it. he is quite brilliant, but has all these weird habits. He says he cant help wetting and pooping on himself, but when offered bribes he can miraculously control it. He has stayed with us for the last 10 days and has had close to 20 accidents. One day he had 4 in one day with one being in a restaurant with family. I am worried that he will start getting hazed in school as he does it there as well. He says he knows he is doing it. Any advice?

Brief Answer:
He is not doing this intentionally

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for your question.

Your step son was having these problems since long. last year also you have asked about his bed wetting and you got good reply.

The bed wetting and other strange behaviors you describe here are commonly present in the children who have major stresors in the life. in a child bed wetting and others start after separation from the mother, arrival of sibling in the family, when there is feeling of insecurity.

At present the problem has increased, it may be possible that your son is not doing this intentionally but he may be getting pleasure by doing this.

It may be possible that your son does not have good mother like feeling about you and he is missing his original mother and displaying the anger by showing these kind of behaviors..

I think, you should take him to psychoanalyst as well as child psychologist for better understanding of his psyche. the child is different creature from adult person.they do not convey directly , they used to show their problems indirectly by strange methods..

Psychoanalyst can identify the hidden trauma your step son is having and child psychologist will tell you how these behaviors can be controlled? what should be done?

I hope this will be helpful to you for your doubts. If you have further queries feel free to ask..
Best of luck.
