What Causes An Infant To Vomit Up Milk?
Question: I have a 1 month old baby girl. She has been healthy and feeding well. But she seems to be having problem burping. We try to make her burp for 10 minutes, but only sometimes she burps. She throws up some milk after sometime or even at times during her sleep.
She has been sleeping well. But from past 2 days, she has been very fussy and not sleeping well. She will sleep when we cradle her or rock her in lap, but the moment we put her to bed, she will wake up. She is not crying continuously, but sometimes.
She has been throwing up milk or curdened milk more than before. She grunts like she is trying to pass stool or fart but nothing happens.
Her head and belly was little hot in the morning, but we checked the temperature to be 98.5.
What do I do? Should I give her Neopeptine drop? Does it have side effect? How do I understand if she is in stomach pain? I am a first time mother with no one to help me here. I am clueless. Please help.

It seems like your baby is suffering from colic pain.
Colic pain is very common in babies from one to 6 months. This will cause them to cry often and their sleep is usually disturbed. Though the exact cause is still not known, many attribute it to swallowed air and immature gut of baby.
But there is nothing to worry. It will improve as your baby gets bigger.
Typically it starts UN the evenings and babies arch their body long with crying .
I usually do not advice neopeptine drops as it does nothing. Gastica or colicaid drops can be give instead only when she cries with pain.
I give my one month old patients, 5 drops as and when needed if the baby is crying continuously.
Do ensure proper burping after each feed.
It will settle soon.
If not , do consult your nearby pediatrician

Your constipation usually doesnot affect your baby.
But generally it is better to take plenty of fruits , vegetables and liquids to avoid constipation , which will affect your pelvic muscles and wound healing.
