Question: Hi,
I had an ectopic surgery in the month of April'16.
I would like to know how a repeat ectopic can be prevented & whether I can do something to develop a good quality egg?

Hello Mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
The occurrence of ectopic pregnancy is related to structure and integrity of Fallopian tubes and thus nothing can be done from outside to prevent as it is the inherent nature of the body.
All we can do is to stay cautious and report to doctor immediately after a positive pregnancy test and then having full evaluation at the earliest.
Regarding the quality of egg also nothing much can be done to assess and improve if but still you can adopt weight reduction in case overweight and avoid outside food with lot many chemicals and spices which can have bad effects.
Smoking whether active or passive is also a potential threat to egg quality.
In general Takd a lot of water and fresh fruits and vegetables as much as possible which will give anti-oxidants for the body cells.

Additionally, I had a follow up question. Since I have two functioning ovaries, but only one functioning fallopian tube (right), will I be able to conceive when my left ovary produces follicles? Will the right tube pick the follicle of the left ovary?

No dear only the ipsilateral tube picks the ovum so cycles in which egg is formed in left ovary will go waste.
But still usually there are fair chances of pregnancy so just relax
