Brief Answer:
Possibility of urticaria; symptomatic Rx with oral antihistamines

Detailed Answer:
Good morning. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

I have gone through your query and I have understood it.

You seem to have a condition known as Acute Urticaria.
Urticaria usually presents as red, itchy, skin welts/swellings, however, some cases may just have redness/erythema of skin and there may be no welts.
Itching is usually severe in patients of urticaria and it can be distributed all over the body.

Acute Urticaria is usually allergic in nature and the implicating factors can be varied.

Common ones include:
-Foods like peanuts, cheese, tomatoes, pineapple, fish and prawns etc
-Food preservatives e.g canned food and drinks etc
-Drugs like Pain killers/ NSAIDs, antibiotics etc
-Viral infections like common cold etc may also present with itching
-Alcohol intake is also a cause of urticaria and itching.

There may be no identifiable cause in at least 50-60% of cases with urticaria.

Acute urticaria is quite common and almost everyone will have an episode of urticaria at least once during his/her lifetime.

Majority of acute urticaria cases resolve within 2 weeks.

Treatment is symptomatic i.e Oral antihistamine for a week or 10 days along with topical soothing lotion.

Therefore I would suggest you to continue with the oral treatment as advised by your doctor.
You may even take the tablet twice daily, if required

Topically you may use a soothing lotion e.g calamine lotion.

Brief Answer:
May take up a test for Total Blood Count.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

At this stage you may just take up a test for Total Blood Count, to identify eosinophilia from a possible allergic cause.
Most cases of acute urticaria resolve with symptomatic treatment within 2 weeks without need for any extensive investigations.

Yes, you may go ahead with your travel plan as scheduled.
