What Causes Acute Pain On The T10 Vertebra When Pressed?

default
Posted on Sat, 27 Sep 2014
Question: Hello. 32 year old healthy female. My massage therapist found a spot on my spine that only when pressed it kills. It's location is t10. I didn't even notice it until she pressed on it. What is going on? It doesn't hurt right now unless I press on it. Only on right side, not on left side. Please note, it doesn't hurt at all unless someone finds that spot and presses on it.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your query I will like to tell you that localised tenderness of spine refers to some local pathology going on in the spine . But generally there are accompanying features also like swelling over the region , pain during movement of spine , weight loss , fever etc. Since you dont complain any such feature it is highly unlikely that there is something to worry about .

Rest you should get an X ray dorsal spine - AP and lateral view to see whats going on . Thats the only way to determine that . Plus physical examination by a doctor is very important as how much significance should be given to this tender spot cannot be said without examination.

Take care.

Dr. Shruti
