Posted on Tue, 8 Apr 2014
Question: Hi for the last 2 weeks i have had acute onset of headache. Initially when coughing or bending forward in the context of a cold. I was treated for sinusitis with no improvements. I have also been to the optometrist. My eye exam is normal. The pain is located around the right eyes. When I touch the skull around it hurts. I am worried for brain tumor. Never had headache before

Brief Answer: primary headache Detailed Answer: Dear thanks for sharing with us your symptoms. Neurological disease especially brain tumor are presented clinically with a lot of signs (you don't have anyone of them) The characteristics of you headache seems the one of a primary headache with no brain problems. Anyway it is wise to take contact with a neurologist and undertake a CT scan for insurance and after normal CT scan you will start pain killers such as ibuprofen and you will be fine! I don't see any reason for you to worry to much. Wish you all the best, Sincerely Dr Eris Ranxha
