Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Diarrhea is not a characteristic symptom for
acid reflux disease. So this episode of diarrhea may be caused by some food
poisoning not associated to the acid reflux.
It is also possible that diarrhea and acid reflux are caused by gallstones. Usually it gives also upper right
abdominal pain radiating to the back.
To make your symptoms disappear you should:
- avoid fatty foods, spicy foods, fried foods, alcohol, coffee, chocolate, orange juice
- do not eat 2 hours before sleeping
- Prilosec is a good medicine and should be taken once a day, in the morning before any meal
If the symptoms wont go away, you should consult your doctor and have abdominal
ultrasound and gastroscopy. In many cases
Helicobacter Pylori is triggering such symptoms and without it eradication, you wont get a relief.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
