Brief Answer:
Colonoscopy should be done to rule colon cancer out.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Any change in stool frequency, amount, size or consistency at your age (over 50) should not be ignored. Please note that the risk of colon cancer significantly rises over 50. You may have only one symptom of this issue. No blood in stool necessary. Abdominal pain is a late symptom and does not have to appear as well.

I suggest you to do not wait with it any longer. Please visit your doctor and have colonoscopy done. This should be the first step.
Other possible reasons of such symptom like hypothyroidism, bad diet (low fiber intake), hypertension medicines should be considered after colonoscopy.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
