A little information to share with you

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I understand your frustration, but I would like you to help me confirm the most probable diagnosis with a little more information if you don't mind ma'am:

+Abdominal pain and/or cramps (Especially after having any trigger foods or drinks which I shall explain in a while)
+Abdominal bloating (Especially after having trigger factors)
+Increased urge to pass your bowels soon after eating certain foods or drinks (i.e. trigger factors)
+Change in consistency of stool (which you have already reported)
+Alternating diarrhoea and constipation (also reported by you)
+Mucus in stools
+Pain in abdominal region in the sides (around the rib region)
+Increased gas
and a few other symptoms.

Let me also mention the most common trigger factors for your reference:

+Popcorn
+Chocolates
+Tea
+Caffeine and all products containing it
+Spicy food
+Stress (one major trigger factor)
+Oily food
+Fatty food
+Fried food
+Certain types of vegetables (e.g. broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, etc.)
+Taurine (found in certain drinks, especially energy drinks)
+Chips
+Alcohol
+Sorbitol (Also found in certain drinks)
+Fructose
+Lack of exercise
and a few others that are individual-specific, and should be learnt by each individual through observation and occurrence of their symptoms soon after consumption of them.

Please write back to me with a response on how any of the above symptoms you have, and what you think about the trigger factors; and we shall continue our discussion from there.

Best wishes.

Brief Answer:
Definitely sounds like a gastrointestinal condition

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.

Well your symptoms certainly point towards a gastrointestinal condition, which is more on the lines of irritable bowel syndrome (ulcerative colitis or Crohn's Disease), diverticulosis, etc.

A diagnosis is mandatory in order to proceed, which will require an elaborate workup along with a colonoscopy (when symptoms are present). But the most important thing to understand are the trigger factors which I mentioned in my previous response.

Treatment includes:

+Avoid trigger factors completely
+Mild exercise
+Medication like mebeverine and chlordiazepoxide (only when episodes occur)
+Living a more healthy lifestyle
+Anti-depressants: Are used because they seem to have an effect on suppressing such conditions, but obviously need to be prescribed by a doctor
+Drink plenty of water
+Journal your food intake (contents) every time there is an onset of symptoms, and over time you shall learn what to eat and what not to eat

I hope I have explained things in a manner best understood by you. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
