What Causes A Sudden Onset Of Shoulder Pain?

default
Posted on Thu, 19 Jan 2017
Question: Hi Dr. I have had sudden onset of pain. First in my shoulders around the top where they join the shoulder. Also at that time in my hips. I was very stiff so I did stretches which helped with the symptoms. The stiffness was from the center of my thighs through the buttocks. Now my hands and wrist are stiff and painful upon waking. I wake several times during the night to reposition myself. Sometimes my hands are numb.

Brief Answer:
Get investigated.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have read your query.

Symptoms you are explaining may be due to many reasons.

So for exact diagnosis to be made get fasting blood sugar, serum uric acid, serum RA factor,ESR, CRP done and send me the report.

One thing I need most is xray of both hands in AP View to see the present condition of you small joints.

Till then have cap.rabiprazole empty stomach, cap indomethacin25mgs thrice a day, cap. pregabalin75mg+methylcobalamine750mcg at night.

Avoid asprin ( you can take it only if advised by doctor).

Hot packs, you can use.

I hope it helps.

Thanks,

Dr. CHANDER XXXXXXX XXXXXXX
