What Causes A Red Sore In The Pubic Region?
Question: Hi doctor, I have a small painless red sore on my pubic area. It started a few weeks ago pink, itched a little early on, but is now purple and getting smaller. Should I be worried about syphillis?

Hi dr.kakkar, i am sexually active. I do, and have used protection (condom)I had a new sexual partner a few days prior to developing this sore. My last sexual contact was about 4 weeks ago.

I have viewed the images. I can see a single erosion on pubic area. This looks more like genital herpes.
However I would like to test for both genital herpes as well as syphilis. You may take a screening blood test for HSV type 1&2 i.e ELISA (HerpeSelect) and VDRL.
