What Causes A Rash In Between The Thighs?

default
Posted on Wed, 15 Feb 2017
Question: I have developed a rash on the inside of both thighs, from just below my groin to just above my knees. At first was dry and somewhat flaky. That has cleared but the skin is still red in both areas. No itching or physical problems...wouldn't know it was there if it wasn't visible.

Brief Answer:
Probably fungal infection,candid cream.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, thanks for writing to healthcare magic.I can understand your concern.

I have reviewed images uploaded by you. In my opinion rash most probably suggest fungal infection. This is known as tinea cruris.

Excessive sweating, wearing tight clothes etc can aggravate such type of infection.

Treatment for fungal infection is topical and oral.

At first you may try topical creams like candid. It is available on counters. Apply it two times daily. Keep area dry as much as possible. Avoid tight clothes.

In case if rash does not disappear you may need oral antifungal drugs for which you may need to consult a dermatologist.

I hope this will help you. In case of any concern I will be happy to help you.

Thanks.
