What Causes A Lump On The Rectum?

default
Posted on Tue, 29 Nov 2016
Question: I have a very sensitive lump on the left side of my rectum wall. I have had hemorrhoids for many years, this doesn't feel like a hemorrhoid. The lump seems to be hard, sore and attached or protruding from the rectum wall.

Brief Answer:
Possible rectal polyp

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.

It still may be internal hemorrhoids or rectal polyp and you should get done rectoscopy to clear this out especially in your age when some more serious diagnosis such as rectal or anal cancer, should be ruled out. It can also be removed during rectoscopy.
