What Causes A Lump On The Jawline Of A 11 Year Old?

default
Posted on Tue, 6 Dec 2016
Question: Hi. My 11 year old daughter has a large marble size hard, non movable lump on her jawline. We had a CT scan on it today and they said she has multiple swollen lymph nodes in that area. They are consulting with a ear nose and throat dr and suppose to be getting back to me tomorrow. I just can't help but worry and googling stuff I'm freaking out even more. Any answers or suggestions will greatly be appreciated!!

Brief Answer:
Probably not a cause for concern

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Most often lymph node swelling occurs due to some local infection eg. In the mouth. It is not a cause of concern. Unless there is widespread lymph node swelling or unless the size gradually increases you need not get concerned.

Nothing needs to be done about it.

Regards
