What Causes A Lesion On The Tongue While Treating Scabies?

default
Posted on Wed, 1 Feb 2017
Question: I got scabies two months ago and have done 7 Permethrin treatments (all partially failed due to bad instructions I got (I am 66 and I didn't treat my head for the first 4 treatments) ) and one Ivermectin treatment after my tongue got a lesion that erupted a few days later and bled slightly for several minutes. It healed in a few days, but I now have another one in a different spot on my tongue. Was it a scabies egg burrow erupting or the effect of the Permethrin? I am terrified that I have scabies in my mouth and tongue that could get out of control if I can't keep taking Ivermectin at some point. Also I have had under-the-toenail eruptions. Help!!!

Brief Answer:
Tongue lesions

Detailed Answer:
Hi
welcome to healthcare magic and thanks for putting up the query
Ma'm human scabies can never infect oral cavity as the mite can't survive but if you have any pest and it has scabies, it can infect mouth..probably your tongue lesions are not due to scabies.
My advise is please if possible send me the pictures of the lesions so that i can suggest you better or you should consult a dermatologist..
For the scabies lesions in toenails, apply anti scabies ointment alongwith oral medications..
For your tongue lesions, till u send me pictures or visit a dermatologist, take vitamin c tablet once daily and use hexidine mouth wash..avoid spices and any tobacco product..
Wishing you a speedy recovery
thanks and regards
