What Causes A Hard Spot On The Inner Thigh With History Of Melanoma?

default
Posted on Fri, 29 Jul 2016
Question: My daughter, age 37. Had a melanoma removed from foot (not sun caused). 3 inch of skin, healing nicely. Scheduled for lymph node dissection in 10 days, sentinel cells had microscopic (quite small) melanoma cells. Today suddenly, warm hard spot, inner thigh of that side, 6 inches below the incision, higher than the knee. A bit warm, very tender, a bit of a hard spot though not that well defined to my touch. Obvious fear is a tumor but that would not be an immediate threat over the weekend. Blood clot however could be. Could push her to emergency tomorrow to check for clot, see her Melanoma surgeon Monday or Tuesday.

When I mentioned 6 inches below the incision, I was referring to the small incision for the groin lymph node removal of the firs two lymph nodes NOT the surgery to remove the melanoma on her foot. Please look at rest of information to tie that addendum in.

Brief Answer:
You should consult your treating doctor urgently.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
She has history of melanoma and lymphnode dissection surgery.

It can be complicationof surgery. It may be clot or may be some other complications.

So be on safe side just consult your treating doctor once. For melanoma its not urgent but it looks like some complication.

Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
