Brief Answer:
Herpes zoster

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com. I have read your query. I understand your concern.
As per details, it seems that you have Herpes zoster/shingles. It is viral infection of skin caused by Varicella virus . It is characterised by grouped vesicles on erythematous base in a dermatome limited to one side of body. It is usually associated with pain, itch or burning sensation.
In such cases, I prefer to advise oral antivirals like Acyclovir / Valacyclovir with topical antibiotic cream like mupirocin 2 percent. In severe cases, oral antibiotics are also given. For symptomatic relief, painkillers ot antihistaminics as per symptoms are advised.
I will advise you to visit your doctor so that he can examine you and give you prescription. The dose of Acyclovir is given bases on body weight and also it is a prescription drug.
You can share my opinion with your doctor. I hope it helps.
Take care.

I thought shingles was age-related? I am well below 60.

Brief Answer:
there is no age bar for shingles

Detailed Answer:
There is no age limitation for shingles. It may appear at any age. Yes definitely it is more common in older age group but this is not the rule. Your presentation aptly fits into shingles. Still I will advise you to visit your doctor in person so that he can do clinical examination and confirm your diagnosis.
Take care.
