What Causes A Bubble Like Sensation In Lower Abdomen, Weight Loss And Diarrhea?

Question: Hello doctor ! I am 23 , male .

To come to my current situation , I need to tell you a little bit about my past .

1.

I have never had a timely or routinely sleep , bowel movements or meals . But never had any chronic disorders . I have been working out for the past 3 years . On and off . Have used supplements like whey protein , creatine , bcaa and l glutamine . All on and off .

2.

Last year , during this time , I started studying for a demanding course for which I had to attend regular classes . My life schedule became even more hectic . So one stupid thing I did was whenever I had urgency of bowel movements during the hectic day , I consumed an o2 tablet . However , I did not face any problem . I sat my exam and cleared it in XXXXXXX . Then I resumed gym and supplements .

3. For workout , I have chicken and eggs everyday . But never significantly cut down on junk foods .

4. In September last year , one day , I had to go 3 times . Followed by 3-4 times the next day . It was either totally loose or mushy . But all the time it was accompanied by urgency and burning stomach . I took o2 and metrozil and it did not go away for 2 weeks . Then I consulted doctor over the phone . He gave me cifran ct , followed by gut ok and omez . I got fine and everything was fine for3 months without any medicine . I continued with my meals and supplements . Within the 3 months, if I ever had loose stool due to junk food , I got better the next day without any meds .

5. The real problem started for 1st January . I started having gas , bloating , stomach burning and mushy stools 2-3 times for a few days . I consulted doctor over the phone and he prescribed gut ok , rantac and albendazole . I got normal for 1 week . Went only once and passed solid brown or yellow stools . Then after a week , I started going twice . The first time its solid sausage followed by little mushiness . The next time , within 30 mins , my stomach burnt up and I went and passed mushy stools . Not totally liquid . I went once or twice everyday for the following 2 weeks but passed mushy or imperfect stools. But except for the morning , I felt nothing the rest of the day .

6. This time , it was accompanied by severe stomach rumblings everytime I ate anything .

7. I finally visited a gastroenterologist . He checked me and told me I had nothing to worry about . He suggested 3 tests . A stool test , a blood test for sugar fast and a colonoscopy . He also prescribed providac twice a day for 15 days . Normaxin ½ before sleep for 15 days . Ambyzyne twice a day for 15 days . He Advised against any kind of meat or dairy products .

8 Today is the 8th day of the medications . I did my stool test and it had no occult blood . But had mucus , mucus flakes and microorganisms and pus cells . My blood test came out to be normal .

9. For the first 4 days under medications , I felt nice . did not have meat . Stomach noises went away . I passed stools that held it self in the water . However on the 5th day , I had an agitated and tensed argument with someone after waking up and suddenly , stomach heated up again and I went 3 times . However it wasn’t as loose at it used to be but it was still burning hot and on the loose side .The 2 days I felt nice and passed normal stool . With a diet of green tea , rice , salmon , dal , yogurt or dahi and bananas . However today , I passed loose stools again . It was watery with few sausages but mainly on the liquid side . I only went once and felt complete evacuation . I remember being hungry for a long time yesterday and then having a big meal in the end that contained my normal diet but also oats and biscuits . I am totally freaking out . My studies and everything is in jeopardy and I am worried . I have no pain or discomfort . The only weight loss that has been there is due to stress and lack of eating due to that stress and worry . I don’t feel lack of energy . I sleep very very well . I have complete appetite for any kind of food . But all the good points are turning bad due to my concerns.

10. Another thing . Maybe I am thinking too much but its there . Sometimes , I feel like a bubble like sensation that is there in lower right abdomen near hip bone . But that feeling moves from there to sometimes the bellybutton , then moves up to under right rib or moves to the side towards the back . It is not there if I burp or pass gas .

Ps: No family history of colon cancer , colitis or cohrn’s disease .

Please help with the possibilities !

Brief Answer:
Healthy diet backed with regular exercise needed.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone very carefully through the entire details provided. Let me mention that it is a very bad practice to go for antibiotics every time that you get a loose or mushy stool. Most often it is either due to a viral cause or due to some preformed toxin in food where antibiotics are meaningless. Even if there is a bacteria causing it, unless there is a bloody diarrhea, antibiotics are not needed and irrespective of whether you take antibiotics, it will recover on its own in 3-5 days (the credit will unnecessarily go to the antibiotic when really it is not the case).

During such cases, adequate rehydration is the mainstay of treatment. You need to take plenty of ORS (oral rehydration solution) sip by sip. You are having some sensations due to rapid peristaltic movements (bowel movements). They are not a cause of concern. You to take yogurt or curd since it contains beneficial bacteria. You also need to take plenty of green leafy vegetables as they contain dietary fibers which are essential.

I do not think that the mentioned problems have anything to do with colon cancer, colitis or crohn’s disease.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards

Brief Answer:
Reports normal.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. I have gone through the reports. It is normal to have a few pus cells in stool as is having bacteria and mucus. In short, the report is normal and there is no need to get concerned.

The other reports are normal too.

one last question sir ! Providac and normaxin for a week now . I feel less irritation . Stools are sometimes loose and sometimes shaped somehow but its definitely better than before . I am going only once a week . However foods like oats and oats biscuits or anything other than fish, rice, bananas or eggs are causing loose stools. So completing the course , curd , exercise and vegetable will make it better ? Also please suggest a protein rich diet in this situafion. Thanks a tonne sir and goodnight !

Brief Answer:
If you have loose stools, take ORS.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks again for writing back. It is no use taking these medicines for more than a week. Even if fiber containing foods cause loose stools, you need not bother. All you have to do is to make up for the salt and water lost by taking ORS. Of course that does not reduce the importance of curd, exercise and vegetables.

Eggs, chicken and fish are good sources of animal protein while spinach, legumes, pulses, carrots etc. are good plant sources of protein. Include these in your diet.

Regards. Good night.
