Brief Answer:
scotoma and possible detached retina

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM with your health care questions.

You are concerned about having a flashing light in your vision. This is a called a scotoma and could be related to a detached retina. A detached retina is the vision portion in the back of the eye and it has torn itself off the back of the eye. I recommend that you call your ophthalmologist to have your vision and eyes checked. If you do not have this examined you could loss your eyesight. They can treat a detached retina with laser therapy in the office or at a hospital.

In summary
1. You have a scotoma
2. Possible detached retina
3. See your ophthalmologist for examination and treatment
