Posted on Tue, 24 Jun 2014
Question: Hello !!

i have a qestion - how can i get CA MRSA USA 400 ?
by skin and smal cut contact ??
and i get it i will be at firs colonized - and a dont get sick ??
and after 3 mounth MRSA will be decoloniced ??
it usualy does !!

and who get sick by pneimoni - people with some imunity decline ??

Most minor skin infections in otherwise healthy persons resolve with without antibiotics, but serious infections (eg, necrotizing pneumonia, necrotizing fasciitis, infective endocarditis), particularly in immunocompromised or chronically ill patients, have significant morbidity and mortality
https://www.clinicalkey.com/topics/surgery/mrsa.html

And what are the frst USA400 CA MRSA pneimonia syptoms ??
do i have somthing on my skin or not ??

and what is morlality rate im CA MRSA pneimonia !!

is it so high as 75 % - or it is to high ??

"When it comes to treatment, we are standing in the dark, with a case mortality in the published literature of around 75%," Dr. Gould said.

Should i be afraid of that ??

or just keep good imune system - and i wont get pneimoni if i get colonized by USA 400 MRSA

Thank you !!

Brief Answer:
No specific immunodeficiency known in MRSA pts

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic and your question is a difficult one to answer.

CA MRSA USA 400 stands for Community Acquired Methicillin Resistant Staph Aureus clone USA 400.
A paper by Dr XXXXXXX says "Although methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) strains are not necessarily more virulent than methicillin-sensitive S. aureus strains, some MRSA strains contain factors or genetic backgrounds that may enhance their virulence or may enable them to cause particular clinical syndromes". Now this paper identified the following 'risk' factors:
1. Colonization clearly increases the risk for subsequent infection
2. In dweeling devices - The ability to form and reside in biofilms is one reason why prosthetic-device infections, for example, can be so difficult to eradicate without removal of the device.
Numerous factors have been proposed, such as increased fitness, improved evasion of the host immune system, and unique toxin production (usually PVL).

Source: Clin Infect Dis. (2008) 46 (Supplement 5): S350-S359.

There remain several unanswered questions about virulence and I am sure time will answer them.

Best Wishes.

- just say in short that riks of CA MRSA with complications is very samall if i keep good healt an good imune system

As all others doctors said the most important is to be in good health

Becouse most of people who are colomized - get decolized, and never get sick

as i was askin to other doctors for example
Dr. XXXXXXX Bhatti , M.B,B.S., M.S. (ENT)
ENT Specialist

he said - that most importan is to keep good imune system ! to avoid CA MRSA
becaouse good imune sustem is able to avoid this infection and to get decolonized

he said to me -

You chances of a fatal MRSA infection in your lifetime is virtually nil.
( keep good imune system )

and doctor Uga DUMPIS, Dr.med. (http://ww3.lza.lv/Nozares/med_sci.htm)
not from this web site said

that most people who are colonized with CA MRSA get decolonized by themselves - and the most of colinzed people never get sick

And i was looking also in literature - and its is said that people wit decrese imune system get infection from colonized CA MRSA -

- Healthy individuals may carry MRSA asymptomatically for periods ranging from a few weeks to many years. Patients with compromised immune systems are at a significantly greater risk of symptomatic secondary infection

And CA MRSA are rare fatal - in case when people get - pneumonia

And it is also said that people get pneumionia with MRSA if they have decrease imunity, if they have some ather disease that is making weak imune system !!

people with good imunity wont get it !!!

It is true ???

And the anwer from you as i uderstand - the goof imune system and hygiene is a key to keep
away from problems with MRSA . Is it true ??

Numerous factors have been proposed, such as increased fitness, improved evasion of the host immune system, and unique toxin production (usually PVL).

Thank you very much - you help me a lot !!!

Brief Answer:
Advice given to prevent recurrent staph infection

Detailed Answer:
Please follow these simple rules to lower carriage of staph bacteria:
Decontamination procedure
Topical suppression therapy is used to try and interrupt transmission.
1. Mupirocin 2% nasal ointment (Bactroban cream; Mupiban; Pirocin etc)
apply to the inner surface of each nostril (do not “poke” tube into nostril)
rub side of nose until you are able to taste ointment
apply three times daily for 5 days and then stop treatment (as resistance may be encouraged
by prolonged use). Do not repeat once course of treatment has finished.
2. Chlorhexidine soap (Trade name: Bactolite, Elegant International)
Wet skin and then apply body wash thoroughly to all areas before rinsing
Pay special attention to hair, axillae, groin and perineal area.
Use daily in bath or shower for 5 days only (then dispose of any remaining product)
Moisturising cream and hair conditioner may be applied after use.
General
Use new laundered towel and clothes daily (wash at 60C when possible).
Do not share towels
Staphylococci may live on collars of non-washable items such as coats. Consider having these dry cleaned.
