Hi Dr XXXXXXX I've emailed the pictures.
I used to have pimples problem but as I said, it's not that serious. Sometimes it will get itchy and when I touch it there's already a small dot and it became and pimple and it take weeks to recover and the most annoying part is the mark they left on my body. I'm using bio-oil for about 3 months already, I can see the mark is getting lighter but it doesn't help when new marks keep on coming. Do you have any better suggestion like cream or oil that can make the marks and scars go away?
The pimples on my back I get regularly. Where as the chest area, it started pop up all at once recently, and as for my face, I get it regularly too but its not very serious.
Not the first time my period delayed.
Pimples on my face are quite seldom, mostly only during the time before period comes. Though sometimes. It do pop.out but it doesn't leave a dark mark until recently.
But this is the first time that it delayed for quite long, almost a week now.. could be caused by the birth control pill I took when my period was about to due. I took postinor2 and escapelle regularly, but never did i took over the dose as prescribed by the pharmacist, which is not to take postinor2 more than 4 tablets month or escapelle more than 2 tablets a month.
But these pimples only this bad about a week or two before my period was about to come.

Brief Answer:
Seborrheic Acne: various suggestiions.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome again and thanks for posting your details along with pictures.

I have analyzed the picture and correlating with your history I can make out that these are mild to moderate grade pimples which we call as Seborrheic Acne because of its site over chest and back.

Before I proceed to your issue let me explain you elaborately regarding pimples- Acne or pimples generally appears at the age of 13-14 years and then almost vanishes by the age of 25 years. These erupts basically due to hormones (chemicals which are influencing one or other body functions including growth, puberty and development of body in adults) in addition to the influence of certain other factors causing its aggravation.

Certain hormones and its bye-products play the most important role in high oil secretion and increase the size of oil glands. As the pores or ducts of the glands are blocked so it leads to formation of pimples. In females specifically when there is any abnormality in hormones then one can get your kind of pimples.

There are certain other factors such as application of oily or creamy products, over exposure to sunlight, heat and humidity or due to pinching, popping and squeezing of the pimples also leads to formation of pimples.

Once these are healing they leave the most problematic thing which are either marks or scars. Therefore any of the above factors along with hormones can cause appearance of pimples at the age of 20 years also.

These can erupt at any site where the oil glands are active including face, back chest and shoulder. Specifically as you took hormonal pill before your period so you got bit higher level of hormones causing the pimple eruption. So probably you got some idea regarding your acne.

There are certain suggestions which you can follow:

1. Do not pinch, pop or squeeze any area.

2. Do not apply any creamy or oily stuff or any other cosmetics.

3. Try to avoid any home remedies suggested by your friends or family members or otherwise self implicated therapies also.

4. Try avoiding situations of direct continuous exposure to sunlight or heat and humidity for long hours.

5. Kindly do not use any antibiotic as self medication.

6. Do not apply any hair oil on scalp or apply in very less amount. Wash your scalp daily with some good shampoo and let there be no dandruff in your scalp (because dandruff itself causes blockage of pores of oil glands and then pimples).

- For topical application if I were your treating doctor then would have prescribed you a gel containing Clindamycin with Adapalene in it. This should be applied at night time in thinnest possible amount over pimples only. For initial few days apply for 1 hour and then wash it off.

For scars and spots I would have preferred a cream containing Kojic acid or azelaic acid to be applied at night time. This should be applied at night time in thinnest possible amount over spots only.

Reduce your stress level too as high stress leads to hormonal up surge and thereby more eruption of pimples.

I hope that the information will help you. If you have any further query I will be happy to help.

Brief Answer:
Clindamycin is an antibacterial antibiotic;Adapalene reduces oil secretion

Detailed Answer:
Hello young lady,

Welcome again to the forum and thanks for your further follow up.

While clindamycin is an over the counter medicine, a combination of clindamycin with adapalene probably requires a prescription. You can check with your local pharmacy for the availability of these medicines.

Clindamycin is an antibacterial antibiotic and reduces the growth of bacteria and therefore the proliferation of pimples. Adapalene on the other side is a vitamin A ester which helps in reducing oil secretion and blockage of pores and therefore resultant less pimple eruption.

Otherwise also the suggestion in the previous mail are quite helpful to reduce the pimples and can follow the same.

I hope that the information will help you. If you have any further query I will be happy to help.
