Brief Answer:
Asthma can be the case.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Such feeling can be caused by acid reflux problem. Especially if it is related to foods intake. Nausea can appear with this feeling as well.

It is also possible that what you think that is inside the esophagus, appears in the airwaves. If so, this should get more intense when breathing rapidly. Cough can be present as well. Such symptom can be caused by trachea and bronchi narrowing and be a sign of asthma or COPD (if you smoke).

If you do smoke, also esophageal cancer is a thing which should be ruled out.

I suggest you to consult your doctor and consider gastroscopy. Please also consult pulmunologist if it can be from airwaves.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
