What Casues Exhaustion?

default
Posted on Tue, 8 Jul 2014
Question: How can I deal with exhaustion that comes on about 1 pm almost everyday--I fight it for hours, then about 4 or 5 o'clock I just collapse and must sleep several hours---When the barometric pressure lowers I can get this feeling at anytime. Please give me the name of a doctor who can help. I just read of another person who has almost identical symptoms. Thanks, XXXX

Brief Answer:
Give me further details.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney.
I understand your concern.
This can be because of any of the following reasons:
1. Obstructive Sleep Apnea causing disturbed sleep and day time sleepiness.
2. Hypothyroidism.
3. A habit developed slowly over time.

I would like to know following:
1. Since when are you having this?
2. Do you snore in night?
3. Are you overweight?
4. Any history of diabetes or hypertension or thyroid disease?
5. Any recent weight gain?
6. What do you do?
7. At what time do you sleep in night? For how many hours?
As far as your query is concerned, an internal medicine specialist or a physician can help you best.
