What Casues Delaye Periods?
Question: I'm 30 year old married female my LMP was 30th May 2014. My cycle is normally of 40 days but I didn't got my period till two weeks ago. So I took urine HCG test on 28th July which was negative even on 2nd test after 3 days. So on doctors prescription I took Meprate 5mg twice a day for 5 days. Even now I didn't get my period so on doctors advice taken attached tests. Even in my sonograhy is not showing anything. My Prolactin level is 45.2 and LH is 1.14 so tested HCG again and it shows positive. Are these confirm I'm pregnent and will MEPRATE cause any complication with my pregnancy.

Yours is a case of delayed conception as you already have prolonged cycles it is very common
In my opinion repeat b HCH test after exactly 48 hours of the previous test and let me know the result.
Also in case you have pain in lower abdomen then don't neglect it and visit your gynecologist immediately.
Till then start tablet susten 200 mg twice a day to support pregnancy.
Meparate can cause little androgenic side effects on female fetus but not always and moreover you took it just for 5 days so it will be meagre only.

Hi, as your BHCG test is positive it is sure that pregnancy is there but it can be positive in 3 situations viz
- intrauterine pregnancy very early to be detected on urine pregnancy test
- tubal ectopic pregnancy
- missed abortion.
So the best test for you will be BHCG test after exactly 48 hours after the previous one so that in case it doubles up then it is intrauterine pregnancy and thus relieves us.
But in case it increases but not to the mark then chances of tubal ectopic pregnancy are high whereas in case of dying pregnancy it will decrease further.
All your test reports are normal but they won't decide for the kind of pregnancy.

Hi Doctor,
The previous HCG test was with Prega News so we went and got beta HCG done yesterday morning. Here are the reports for the same. We'll do another test (after 48hours) tomorrow morning and 'll share the reports.
Another worry is day before yesterday sometime after the internal sonography I noticed a drop of blood. And today also I saw some patch on cloth.

Hello sir, the bHCG test levels are well in range with pregnancy but only if it doubles up in 48 hours only then we can come to some conclusion.
Till then you should take tablet susten or any micronised progesterone available in market 200 ug twice a day as you had spotting with pain abdomen.
She should have ample rest and good diet and avoid any sexual activity.
And update me the latest report tomorrow so as to see for next step in management
