default
Posted on Fri, 16 Oct 2015
Question: My family doctor has refused to refill my prescription of wellbution, and was told I needed to see a psychiatrist. I have an appointment Thursday with one but I am completely out of wellbution. Do you think I will experience any withdrawl from not having taken any for 3 days? I have been on this medication about 6 months, 150 per day.

Brief Answer:
there are chances of withdrawal.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome here.
I understand your concerns.

Wellbutrin when discontinued abruptly can cause withdrawal symptoms.

No one can predict with certainty that you will have withdrawals as every individual reacts differently to drugs.
But yes, There are chances that you might experience withdrawal symptoms like restlessness, irritability, disturbed sleep, palpitations.

If there are such symptoms, i would suggest that you can take benadryl (available OTC) till you get your prescription refilled.
Also, ensure good diet and water intake.
This will reduce intensity of withdrawals, if any.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
Regards.
