Brief Answer:
High protein diet and having plenty of fluids

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Milk production is increased by:
- taking high protein diet containing milk and milk products, sprouts, eggs and meat( if non vegetarian)
- drinking plenty of fluids, at least 3-4 litres a day
-breastfeeding regularly and latching the baby repeatedly to breasts.
Resumption of menstrual cycles after childbirth has no effect on the amount of blood supply.

Can cold be reason for less milk production? Because i have cold for past four days and baby also got little bit cold and not drinking milk properly. I was prescribed with ethrocin 500 and chericof syrup, and was told the baby will be alright through my medication itself.

Brief Answer:
Decreased fluid intake

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Whenever you are affected from cold, the oral fluid intake decreases and that can lead to decreased breast milk supply.
If the baby has minor cold, and is taking regular feeds, then there is nothing to worry, and no medication is needed for the baby.
However, if her/his nose is blocked, then the baby will have difficulty in breastfeeding, and hence you should put nasal saline drops in her/his nose to open the blockage and facilitate breast feeding.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
