Firstly why do you think you are having chlamydia infection? What are your symptoms? Have you got some tests done?

Chlamydia pneumoniae which causes lung infections usually causes prolonged cough, bronchitis, and pneumonia, sore throat, laryngitis, ear infections, and sinusitis. The symptoms start gradually with a sore throat that is followed by a cough which lasts for week or more. It is an organism which causes atypical pneumonia.es. The infection is passed from person to person directly through coughing and sneezes and indirectly from germs on hands or other objects.

Visit a physician for proper evaluation of respiratory system. To establish diagnosis swab from posterior nasopharyngeal aspirates or broncho-alveolar lavage specimens by polymerase chain reaction-hybridization (PCR-EIA) as well as the titres of specific antibodies in serum by a rELISA test and a micro-immunofluorescence (MIF) test can be done. Other tests required are haemogram and X Ray.

The patients recover slowly but require prescription of antibiotics like azithromycin is an antibiotic usually prescribed in a single dose, while doxycycline must be taken twice per day for about one week.

Brief Answer:
Viral infection more likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear.
Most women and men with chlamydia do not have symptoms. The time between exposure to chlamydia and the start of symptoms—the incubation period—may range from days to months. If symptoms appear, it is usually 1 to 3 weeks after sexual contact with an infected person. It is 90% likely that you are having viral infection such as respiratory syncytial virus, para influenza virus, adenovirus, etc. These infections are usually self limiting and do not respond to antibiotics. The patient usually is prescribed antibiotics to avoid complications due to superimposed bacterial infection. The treatment required is NSAID like paracetamol to relieve fever and bronchodilators and cough suppressant. Advised to take protein rich balanced diet with multivitamins and plenty of fluids.
Take care.
Don't worry.
