Hashimoto thyroiditis is a autoimmune condition where thyroid gland is attacked by a variety of cell- and antibody-mediated immune processes. It is also called chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis.

It leads to decreased thyroid hormone levels in blood leading to hypothyroid features some of them include as below.

Weight gain
Hair loss
Depression
Sensitivity to heat and cold
Chronic fatigue
Panic
Changes in heart rate
Congestive heart failure
High cholesterol
Constipation
Muscle weakness, joint stiffness

Thyroid profile which includes Tsh, T3 and T4

Thyroid Autoantibodies-
Anti-thyroglobulin antibodies (anti-Tg),
Anti-thyroid peroxidase antibodies (anti-TPO) and
Anti-microsomal antibodies

The above tests help in diagnosing the Hashimoto's.
