Brief Answer:
better to avoid Ibuprofen

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Pedal edema has many causes like low hemoglobin, NSAIDs (like Ibuprofen in this scenario) consumption, salt and water imbalances, kidney, liver or heart problems. As per this description, there is nothing to point any of these organs.

So here he should first get some basics tests like hemogram, liver, and kidney function tests, and later may need 12 lead ECG and 2D-echo. Please get his blood pressure checked once.

He should avoid Ibuprofen as it can aggravate pedal edema, have alternative pain killers like tab Ultracet or Tramadol 50 mg whenever needed after food(up to thrice daily). Restriction of water and salt will be helpful.

Also, continue water pills like furosemide 20 or torsemide 10 mg once a day. You need to check his potassium levels if he on water pills after 3-4 days.

Hope this helps you and get back if you have any doubts.

Regards
