Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

I understand your concern and would explain that, as there are no superior anti-hypertensive medication schemes, it is important to select the drugs with an appropriate pharmacological effects (effective at lowering high BP values) and the less possible adverse effects.

Benicar has shown efficacious, but need to be potentiated by other antihypertensives.

I would recommend discussing with your doctor on the possibility of starting a betablocker such as Carvedilol 6.25 mg 2X1/2 tab daily.

Meanwhile it is important to frequently check your BP values for a couple of days in order to establish a definite antihypertensive scheme and optimize the ongoing medications dosages.

Hope to have been helpful to you!

In case of any further uncertainties, feel free to ask me again.

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
