Question: what are the side effects of hiv drugs? can you feel healthy if you are takings hiv drugs? Is hiv drugs free for the people living in spain? Can you drink alcohol if you are taking hiv drugs? I had sex wearing condom with prostitute of unknown hiv status and after 8 days i start having sore throat, fatigue, inflammation of the neck armpit, loss of appetite headache and diyrea all this sickness lasts one month.I went for Anti ab hiv1 $2 and ag p24antigen after 40days and it came negative and doctor called that I should come for test again in 7weeks and two days after exposure. Pls do you know if this will show positive.

Here are your answers:
1. Yes, there could be few side effects of taking any medicine as such and Anti HIV medicines are no exceptions(lethargy, nausea loose motions, deranged lipid profile etc), but thankfully all these can be manged easily under medical supervision.
2. Yes, very well, in fact Anti-HIV medications put you back in your track and you feel as well a normal person may be.
3. Can't say so about Spain, as in XXXXXXX HIV + patients who get them treated in Govt set up get free Anti HIV medications.
4. No, alcohol has to be avoided as much as possible.
5. Your doctor is correct, you need another test @ 90 days of exposure to confirm your status, but the best part is that @ 40 days of exposure you are HIV negative and so odds are in your favor that 90 days test too will be negative. So worries over there.
