Brief Answer:
yes you will survive provided quit it immediately

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using healthcaremagic,.

As you use to take 20-35 mg twice a day, 40 mg is not considered overdose or toxic dose. There is no doubt that 40 mg is safe and not a fatal dose.

I also take this opportunity to suggest you to seek drug detoxification if you are addicted.

If it happens to be overdose it may be fatal for you. Please also note that mixing of hydrocodone with other substance of abuse like alcohol, sedatives can be fatal and should be avoided.

I hope you got your query answered. If you have more questions feel free to contact me.
Thanks and regards
Dr Ashok

Could I take another 2 pills of 10mg for a total of 20mg tonight? I know never to take the 40mg again, but I am in pain and would like to take something now. I took the previous 40mg at 8:30 a.m. When can I take my next dose of 20 mg?

Brief Answer:
not a good idea but can be taken now

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Welcome back to healthcaremagic.

As the half life of vincodin os just 4 hours so it can be taken now but frankly speaking you are advincing further in dark area known as dependence.

Since you are aware with the associated risk and you had response with single tablet on some days it is better to take 10 mg single dose this evening. In case after 10 mg tthere is still pain than the next 10 mg can be taken as needed basis.

If you do not requore further clarifications, you can close the query with feedback to my answer.
Wish you good health.
Thanks and regards
