Brief Answer:
Sitagliptin is the extra drug added for better control of blood sugar

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your query.

I shall make an effort to provide you with good professional recommendations specific to your questions.

cetapin contains metformin as active ingredient, istamet contains sitagliptin 50 mg, metformin hydrochloride 1000 mg. Sitagliptin is used in patient of DM for better control of their blood sugar, It may be used alone or with other antidiabetic medicines. Both agents act by different mechanism and help in reducing the blood sugar.

Some sitagliptin side effects may not need any medical attention. As your body gets used to the medicine these side effects may disappear. common side effects include Body aches or pain, cough, difficulty with breathing, ear congestion, fever, loss of voice, muscle aches, sneezing, sore throat etc.

In nutshell i would suggest you not to worry and follow the advice of consulting doctor, as all doctor think about the benefit of the patient before prescribing drug.
