What Are The Repercussions Of Overdosing Alka- Seltzer Extra Strength?

Question: I took 8 XXXXXXX Seltzer Extra Strength tablets yesterday -- two ever six hours. I haven't taken any since midnight last night. Is itg OK to begin them again I had no adverse reactions. I'm over 60.

Alka- Seltzer Extra Strength has the following contents:
Aspirin 500 mg
Heat treated sodium bicarbonate 1985 mg
Citric acid 1000 mg
The usual dose is one ot two tablets . Aspirin can produce inflammation in the stomach and can lead to bleeding from erosions. Soda bicarb is absorbed and large amounts can affect the pH of the blood.
So it is not advisable to take more tablets.
It would be better if you can see consult a doctor and have yourself examined and tested.
Your discomfort may be managed with medicines that do not have high potential risks.
