Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

Taking 50 mg Losartan instead of the usual 25 mg will not cause any dangerous adverse implications on your husband.

A more pronounce anti-hypertensive effect could be expected, but this is transient.

It is necessary to closely monitor his blood pressure values; taking oral fluids and having some rest (in the sitting on flat position) is all that is needed in the case of hypotension.

In general, any potential hypotension is resolved within 12 hours, but if it persists, the next dose of Losartan may be postponed for a couple of hours.

In such case, withholding the upcoming Bumex tablet would be also helpful.

So, to conclude, what i would recommend is to closely monitor his blood pressure values in the upcoming hours.

Hope to have been helpful to you!

In case of any further uncertainties, feel free to ask me again.

Wishing you Merry Christmas!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
