default
Posted on Wed, 1 Feb 2017
Question: I take 100mg of Losartan daily. This morning I took my pill at 7:30 am. This evening I took a second one by mistake at 11:45 pm. as I was going to bed. Should I be concerned about my blood pressure going too low while I am sleeping? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Check your bp

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It is Dr Sameer, cardiologist.
200mg in a day is a high dose. So i recommend to check your BP at least once at midnight. Also take a good meal with enough salt. If bp is below 90/50mm Hg & you are symptomatic (feel very weak or giddiness), take a glass of water with salt.
1 more thing, measure your BP again in morning & avoid the morning dose of losartan and take it in the evening.
If you have any further queries, I'll be more than happy to help you.
Regards
Dr Sameer Maheshwari
