There are a variety of contraceptive methods to choose from.It basically depends upon your convenience and needs.At 26,you can either go for combined oral contraceptive pills or intra uterine device. You havent mentioned whether you have kids or not.If you dont,pills would probably be a better option.There are various types of pills available.Your doctor can help you choose the right one.Your medical history is important and you need to inform your doctor if you have any significant history.Apart from pills and iud,barrier methods like condom or female diaphragm are available.If you have a clear medical history then oc pills should be suitable for you.As far as iud are concerned,copper T/Mirena are widely used these days.
You should be able to get a prescription from your doctor.
