What Are The Common Causes Of Lightheadedness?

default
Posted on Wed, 7 Oct 2015
Question: Hi - because my neck has been stiff and my head slowly arching forward probably from stress over two years, a masseuse suggested lying on my back with a small ball between my shoulder blades. I did that yesterday, with my head arching back to the floor and the muscles around the neck bunching up. Suddenly I saw a flash and quickly got out of that position. I then had lightheadedness like I was on xanax and a loss of good balance - my legs a bit wobbly. This morning I'm still just a tad off, though much improved. Any ideas of what happened?

Brief Answer:
Needs observation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up and providing further details.

In background of this clinical history, there does not seem to be any obvious pathology for the lightheadedness episode you had.Sometimes this can be observed physiologically.Sometimes even high breathing rate can cause lightheadedness.

Please be observant about it and if you get a similar episode in the future, please get yourself examined by a neurologist.

Hope that I have answered your query. If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.

Regards
Dr.Ajay Panwar,
