Posted on Wed, 7 Jan 2015
Question: Hi
exactly 28days ago I had unprotected sex with my bf,though there was no penetration of penis into mine, he ejaculated.
However I had my periods in these days(Dec 2)..generally it's delayed by 2days..it has occurred at the same time..so I did not miss my periods.
what I saw today was a dead sperm in my vagina.
And little pain lower tummy.
does that mean I'm pregnant?
Would there be more sperms in my body?
I do not want to get pregnant..pls tell me medicine so that I can avoid pregnancy..
Please help me..

Brief Answer:
You are unlikely to be pregnant.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to HCM forum.
Thanks for posting to us.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns.
As you had a period that happened as per schedule after the encounter, you are not pregnant now.

The dead sperm you mentioned may be just vaginal secretions/cervical mucus only.
Spermetozoa can not survive beyond 2-3 days in the female gentital tract. So fear of having more sperms in your body is also out of question.

Regarding lower abdominal pain, if it is not associated with other features like fever, nausea, pain or burning sensation on urination etc, this need not be worried much. You can try simple analgesics like acetaminophen (500 mg thrice daily) for 3 days. If you are not getting better by 2 days or the other mentioned symptoms appear, kindly see your doctor without further delay for evaluation for any causes like genito urinary tract infection.
Meanwhile drink plenty of oral fluids.

Hope this will answer your query.
Be free to ask further questions if any.
Wishing you good health.
Thank you.

Hi
thank you for the response.

I hav only lower abdominal pain, no fever, no nausea, pain no burning sensation on urination.

What doubt u have is that even though the penetration did not happen..the guy has ejaculated..so some.sperms might hav entered my body (fingers contact at genital areas).

Please confirm..in this case..there are no chances of pregnancy right?

If I have to check for pregnancy test now..when is the right time to check.

Please let me know..and provide any suggestions for the situation.

Brief Answer:
No chance of pregnancy.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
You need not worry about pregnancy.
I was asking such details to look for causes like UTI (Urinary Tract Infection). As you have no such symptoms, just follow the suggestions I made earlier.

Anyhow, if you are so worried, just do a UPT (Urine Pregnancy Test). UPT is usually done soon after missing the period; if neg, we repeat after 5-7 days. As you had a period on dec 2, there is no meaning in doing UPT before XXXXXXX 2 and if no further intercourse after Dec 2.

Hope you got it cleared.
Wishing for good health.
Thank you.
