What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After Vasectomy?
I am 32 and three children ages 9, 6 and 3. My husband had a vasectomy nearly three years ago although he has never returned to have it checked.
My period is always very regular however I am currently 6 days late. I have been bloated, have cramps, have had a headache daily for two weeks, my breasts are swollen and sensitive and I have been experiencing frequent urination. I have taken 3 pregnancy tests and they all were negative.
About 1 month ago I went to my doctor for a yearly appointment (no gyno exam) he reviewed my bloodwork and said that I was one of the healthier people he has seen in a while. Do you think that if there were any hormone imbalances or cervical or uterine cancers that he would have seen something off?
Is there any chance that I could actually be pregnant or does it sounds like I have a health issue going on?
You may be pregnant!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
In my opinion first thing which came in my mind that you may be pregnant( because your husband never go and check for vasectomy and you had delayed period). Chances of vasectomy failure is there.
I know you have negative urine pregnancy test but it may be false negative.( done in 6 days).
So in my opinion you should go to gynaecologist and get your examination done and go for blood test (for beta HCG )and pelvic ultrasonography ( first to rule out pregnancy).
Please revert back to me after your test.
If their is no pregnancy then only we can think other causes.
I think I have answered your query if you have further questions I will be happy to help you.
Good luck.
