What Are The Chances Of Injury To Infant After Falling In Crib?

default
Posted on Fri, 28 Nov 2014
Question: I accidentally dumped my 4 month old on her face while putting her in her crib. She only dropped a couple of inches and didn't cry, but as a new mom, I am worried that I may have hurt her neck or head. She's acting fine. Should I be worried?

Brief Answer:
Need not worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,welcome to HCM forum.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
There is nothing to worry much in this.
From your description, chance of significant head/neck injury is very unlikely.
Anyhow, just watch her closely for 18-24 hours for symptoms like excessive drowsiness, vomiting(unrelated to feeds),irritability etc.If these symptoms are not there, and she is active, alert, playful and accepting feeds orally, there is nothing to worry.Just relax.

Hope this will answer your query.
Wishing for good health.
Thank you.
