What Are The Chances Of Conceiving When Having PCOS?

Question: My wife is suffering form PCOS. we have been trying for last 1.5 yrs. Last august she got pregnant after giving tab siphene 100 and inj bravelle 75, but it ended in miscarrige at 6weeks. then she she had D n E. Doctor told high LH is cause for miscarriage. again we started trying from Dec 14. doctor down regulated LH with inj Lupride,then given clomid and inj IVF150 but no response. then next cycle siphene and inj endogen with some response, but no pregnancy achieved. now inj Lupi FSH 150 for 6 days. good response, so we went for IUI on 27th mar after HCG inj on 25th mar and confirmed ovulation on 27th mar. sadly her period started on 14th april. please advise further treatment. we r desperately trying for baby. please help.

I can understand your concern here and feel sorry about your loss in past.

The chances of pregnancy are not 100% in one cycle whether you are trying through IUI.

So please do not dishartened yourself and try again in her next cycle with the same treatment.

Hope for the best and definitely she will conceived in her next cycle.( sometimes you have to try for 2-3 cycles).

Meanwhile she should take healthy and balanced diet rich in vegetables and fruits, take folic acid daily, do not take stress, do some yoga and meditation.

So please do not take stress and try again in her next cycle.( because she is in right hand).

Thanks doctor for the reply.
We have been trying for couple of months with clomid n injections with no success though there were confirmed ovulations.
For information her tubes are patent and semen analysis normal.
Please tell me the cause and suggest another treatment.

Sorry for the long delay in my respons.

I can understand your situation but as such chances of pregnancy with IUI is only 10-15% in each cycle( when nothing goes wrong).

There are so many reasons for failure with IUI.

It can be due to failure in fertilization, implantation, embryogenesis etc.

As you tried three times with IUI with no success, So in my opinion you should go for IVF.( after doctor consultation).

she is having very heavy period with severe cramping for last 2 days.
is it miscarriage?
can we try this cycle with FSH injections?
can we start the FSH injection today- 3rd day of starting cycle?

Have you done her pregnancy test or she missed her period before menses?

Why you want to give her fsh injection?

As we discuss before she is ovulating properly and in her follicular study follicle was growing properly, so I think there is no need to of fsh injection.

Is it possible to you to upload her treatment and investigation reports?

So maybe I will give you a better opinion about it.
