Brief Answer:
Get rapid or ELISA test done after 3 to 6 months

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
As you had vaginal sex with condom, there risk of HIV transmission through oral sex is very low, about 4 per 10000. Therefore it is most likely that you do not have HIV. Your PCR test also shows that you are HIV negative.

However, it is advised to get a repeat test by another method done at the end of 3 months and 6 months. Also be responsible and have any oral or vaginal sex using condom.

It is advised that you do not panic and get rapid or ELISA test done after at least 3 months to confirm that you are not infected with HIV 1 and 2.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have further doubts.

Brief Answer:
Please find details below

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

RNA PCR is reliable and 99.89 percent accurate.

ELISA and ELFA both will test HIV 1 and 2. ELFA is a newer version of ELISA.
The ELISA and ELFA, both are recommended after 3 months so that the antibodies have formed. For peace of mind repeat testing is advised after 6 months.

The OCD history is creating such thoughts in your mind. Please do not worry about your report and symptoms if you have tested negative on PCR RNA. Always use condoms even for oral sex.

It is better to wait for 3 months and do the test to allow sufficient time as per testing method.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have further doubts.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

There have been 60 - 100 cases of HIV 2 in XXXXXXX and XXXXXXX since last year.

The RNA may detect both HIV 1 and HIV 2 (as specified) but it is a test only used for early detection of the virus in the first few weeks. It is accurate from 2 weeks but because it is not a completely sure test it must be used with or followed up by an antibody test like ELISA and ELFA. There are new subtypes of HIV like HIV 1 group O and these are also screened.

You dont have symptoms confirmatory of HIV. Please do not worry and wait for your 3 month test and again get tested at 6 month. These tests are a must and if done now, they will again have to be done at 3 to 6 month.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have further doubts.
